Electronic Ignigition Upgrade

Electronic Ignigition Upgrade
Is this worth the effort and $$. The Jaycar kit (KC5247 and KC5402) give you a programable ignition for around $100. Will I see any benefit from it in my 22R hilux?

I read an article on a GM Hei Ingition upgrade (admitadly it was aimed towards Landcruiser) saying the stock Toyota Ignition was pretty shite.
If you search under Landcruiser FAQ it is easy enuf to find.
He said that by upping the spark and having a better advance curve he could cold start no choke and take corners in 3rd he used to do in 2nd etc.
I thought about doing something similar but was told by a few people that the results would not be that overwhelming.
Two opposing opinions... what to do. I hope the article will help you make your decision.

Search where? I also remember a similar article in petersons - maybe I'll try and find it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Have a look at section 19.3 on the link below. It will give you some food for thought on Toyota Ignition...

Just another question,
is the electronic ignition more or less reliable than stock??
By the way,
That link for the cruiser FAQs is sensational!
I don't know how researched it is, but it sounds very thourough.
Has anyone got pics of a Toyota...
A1(1935), G1(1935), BM(1938-), AK-10(1942) or DA-60(1957).
I can't find ANY on the net!
Cheers,
Bart
