If you get a piece of tube 200 mm long , split it down the middle and use half of the pipe as a guard on the outer formers , this will stop the dents as 80sly as previously said on other threads , Cheers Paul.

thanx all.

Im quite happy with how it turned out. It was designed from scratch to be easilly un bolted and swapped to another sierra and still be strong enough to handle what ever is thrown at it. Thats one reason for over sizing the winch.Winch should never have to strain itself pullin me out of anything.

The dents are from the rolers on the bender. Pipe is probly over kill as its rather thick walled. (4mm) When i eventually get it powdercoated ill fill them in with bog so they are not seen. I have attached the lower plates to the strengthened cross member.

The eyelets are recovery points. They are 3.25t rated eyelets bolted through the sleeved crossmemberand work well. had to snatch out mates bogged daihatsu Delta off them.

Eventually ill swap the wire to plasma rope and run a different fairlead. but for now the roller ones are cheap enough to replace if it stuffs up.

Now gotta get out to try it out.

if we had time than we would consider making a few to sell but it was hard enough to get him to make mine. once he finishes his monster hilux build and then his tube chasis hilus on 44's he might have another go but thats a good year or 2 off.

Personally i'd be looking at something a little stronger than the small eyes. I know they're rated for 3, 500kg but they are also exposed to being hit on the front of the bar.

Looks like you've got room to run hooks on the outside or on top of the chassis rails. This will save stuffing around with shackles as well.

Then you can get the larger hook if you haven't already to save using a shackle on your winch too.

Thanks

Sorry for the hijack Your bar loks awesome too....
fill the pipe with fine sand tap it down so there is no air holes in the sand and then bend when finished empty the sand, Just make sure its either dry or you spray fish oil or another rust inhibitor in the pipe after your finished.
I hate going to weddings because all the grandma's used to poke me in the ribs saying you're next, you're next. They've stopped doing it since I started doing it to them at funerals.
