If its just for winching I wouldn't go a deep cycle.

Yes, a deep cycle is going to die young if you are using it for winching. For winching, you just want a big mofo of a cranking battery, same as your starting battery.
This is not legal advice.

These guys are pretty competitive for deep cycle

But as above thats not what you want for winching
You could start here for optima

I have clients who run a pair of the Yellow Top Optimas. 1 for starting and winch, other for accessories. Winch best ran off starting battery, because that is where the charging is delivered. Consider that your battery isolator may not cope with delivering the winch load. Given the load a winch can pull, even with Optima, still better to use Red Top Starting battery though. PM me and I'll see what I can get you one or two for!

dont run a deep cycle for a winch, just get a decent size battery from supercrap auto or something.

Hey Jason,

Mate I've been running a single 550cca Exide Extreme with the 100amp falcon alternator and it hasn't had a hiccup at all....Cheapest I've seen it is for around 130 at Big W....but other places are only 5 bucks dearer.

so i assume my current setup should be ok.
I run 2 batteries already but just wired together (no isolator) One is a 470cca and the 2nd one is a 430cca. Im using a swift 60amp alt

Should this do for now.
