I would if I could keep it at the 100k speed limit up a slight uphill.

Righto, had a look at it today and overall it seems quite good. The only problem (so far) is that it uses oil. The guy reckons it uses about 1/2 a litre every 4K, is that just due to a worn motor or do lux's tend to eat a bit iof oil?
The only other real problm is the drivers side door hinge seems a bit worn and is a bit loose apart from that she seems fine.

mine used to use a bit right about 4k-5k. basicly its time to do an oil change. drive it at 90km/h and i could get to 7k before losing any oil. not sure why, wheather its oil being diluted then burnt off through the breather.
as long as its not blowing blue smoke (when looking down the exhaust from front to back) then i wouldn't worry about it.
Hey I resemble that statement.tweak'e wrote:sounds fairly tyical if driven anything like spearhead2 doesGOONA wrote:Righto, had a look at it today and overall it seems quite good. But I don't use any oil. Or not enough to notice anyway.
Just changed the fuel filter today because of the B100, 3 tanks full so far.
Was getting a little slow to rev. Back to how it was.

i bought my 91 single cab lux a year ago with 190thou on the clock for 8 grand. The bloke i bought it off was a sparky i worked with for a while and his old man resprayed it in 2pac white. The only thing that went wrong was the alternator (to much mud, was my fault). But yeh its in awesome condition.
we're here for a good time, not for a long time
i had the same trouble with overheating, did everything, including a 4 core radiator. still didnt fix the problem, turned out to be a earth problem it wasnt geting hot at all, just on a hot day when the engine temp was a little higher the gauge went spako. the mechinic put an earth from the engine block to the chasi. havnt had a problem since.
