Hi friends
My name is Jose from Chile, South America, and I need help with information about the enginee 6G72 V6 3.0, because I am traying to buy a Montero V6 3.0 two doors here in Chile, and I found one year 94 and other 97 both with rear locked.
I saw in differents internet sites that the enginee 6G72 V6 3.0 for the year 94 has 151 Hp and 174 Lbs-ft and the year 95-99 has 177 Hp with 183 Lbs-ft (the last it is the same enginee that Montero Sport ???), it is true the same 6G72 V6 3.0 has different Hp and Torque in differents years ???.
How can I see with enginee is it in both Monteros 94 and 97 ???
And finally which do you recomend me ???
Thanks from Chile
Caxtrol !!!!

Hi Jose
The 94 v6 was a 12 valve version of the 6g72 and the 97 model would be a 24 valve version of the 6g72.
Basically the same motor but I believe they used different pistons in the 24 valve version to gain some more horsepower.
This might help also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi ... ngine#6G72
