Navrun - The Best of the Best

Post by GUJohnno »

I've been talking to the Rude Dude for ages about this... It's now on!!!

Since our first Navrun in 2002 to present, those who have finished in the top 3 qualify to compete. This is an invitation event only.

RULES
1. You must keep your original team name
2. There must be at least 2 original members of that team (navigator/ driver, doesn't matter) to make up that team. You can make up the shortfall with any other indiviiduals. A team consists of 2 drivers and 2 navigators and 2 vehicles. Extra people, no problem.
3. Some teams have had many individuals. You can make up more than 1 team. Why not make up 2 or 3. eg. Team Mayhem, Team Mayhem 2, Team Mayhem 3, etc.

See http://www.navrun.com.au/best.htm for more details

if you finish in the top 3 (last chance) at Gembrook you qualify.

There's a catch. Gembrook has close to 30 teams competing. To finish in the top 3 at this venue I reckon you are the best!!!!

wet

Post by Hobzee »

Guys, you have a lot to look forward to. I hope it will be as wet next weekend as it was for us. There was water streaming down the ruts as we drove up and down steep clay tracks. Bog hole after bog hole after bloody bog hole... By taking all the chicken routes we managed to survive them all - but dam there were a lot of them. BYO Chainsaw is a great idea - saved my door with a chainsaw.

Has anyone done Ladder track lately? Hooley Dooley ... and no bog holes either...

Just remember when you are doing the stick map and admire some of those tracks ... we went up what you go down... (Hint). ;)

See you on Friday night...

Have you ever wondered how you get triangles from a cow? You need butter, milk & cheese and an equilateral chainsaw!

Hardness

Post by Hobzee »

OK - we are set to go. Since you guys should know what you are doing.. Afterall you are the Navrun All Stars, we thought we would test your navigation skills with 5 questions/waypoints that would send a novice packing... Just 5 photos alone tally to more points than 2 stick maps. But that's what seperates the bad from the ugly. In the most part, the navigation is straight forward enough so even if you cant do the tricky ones you will only look a little bit rediculous.

If anyone gets a 100% score they are truly worthy.

We haven't gone silly with hundreds of waypoints because then you just drive like nobbers. We have been crafty in its design ... and loved every minute.

They say rain. Better bring tyres with grip.

CU Friday night....

Neither of our cars have winches... If it looks like you need to winch, find another way there!
