Winch question

Post by TEENZA »

I have a 94 sierra with a ARB winch bar fitted...I have just been given a 9000lb Warn low mount winch [brand new still in box] . Since it cost me nothing ,do you think with a few mods i will be able to make it fit. :?

I have a 6000 pound on mine and it pulls fine!

With some modding of the grill i'm sure it would fit! ;)

Try and swap it for a new 6000 (they are a mighty fast winch)

A 9000 will go in an ARB bar, however, it's far from the best winch for a sierra. They are slow and heavy and are far from Warn's best work... which might be part of the reason you were given one for nothing- they aren't greatly loved.

As Pete said - a 6000 low mount is a much better winch - lighter and faster and better for a Sierra. see if you can arrange a part exchange or trade in a 6000, you won't regret it, or even better, try and trade it for a diff lock, far more useful than a winch. I'm not a big fan of electric winches except in very specific situations.
