fj40 oil gauge

ok so the oil gauge on the dash cluster has suddenly gone to L and wont move at all when cold/warm or on/off ect.. does this mean my gauge is gone or the oil pump/ system might have issues ... any ideas ??

Have you checked that the oil pressure switch is still connected? The wire may have just popped off?

im new to the 40 so need to more specific :D

Ok, assuming you have a 2F you should find a switch directly underneath the oil filter (RHS of engine). There should be a wire connected to it and it is very possible that the wire has come off.

Let us know how you go.

I might get a pic for you if I get a chance.

yeah your right there doesnt appear to be a wire at all :?: could really see if it was floating around somewhere will look properly tomorrow in the light. Least doesnt mean theres issues with the oil system :)

well i found it hangin down somewhere cleaned it up aand hooked it back up and its all good thanks for the help mate .
