I need to swap pullys on my ute as im putting power steer on, so i need the one that has 3 belts ( which is on my swb)
Looks easy to remove according to the manual, but they will be on tighter than a nuns C#$T .
ANyone care to come help pull em off for me. a carton/bottle of grog for your efforts.
alternatively, anyone know what size socket is needed, and also will the handbrake hold the tension or will they crack with the starter.

What engine are you talking about?
I have just done the timing belt in my 2.8GU and it was a 27mm socket to get the pullet bolt out. I put the car in 4th, handbrake on and someone on the footbrake. I had a 1200mm length of piping over a 700mm breaker bar and it slowly came undone. Mind you the radiator and fan were removed at the time.
The hard bit was pulling off the pulley, make that attaching the pulley puller to the pulley using 6mm HT bolts into the supplied thredded holes. Once the puller was set up it came off no worries.
The recall the torque setting to put it back on was 130Nm according to the workshop manual.

98 2.8 GU 2" lift. 285/75r16muds, 2 3/4 mandrell exhaust and dump, blocked EGR, Chip, UHF, Full cage rack, snorkel, factory bar.
there both old SD33's . The manual says they run a cone washer, so if i can get the nut undone i will just need to tap with a hammer.

an old trick (if the engine turns the right way) is to have a socket, breaker bar, and a concrete floor. put socket on and set breaker bar just above the ground (or chasis rail) then tap the starter. as it hits it should loosen the nut. Needless to say this isn't the safest thing around so make sure everyone is well clear when you do it.
Other option is remove radiator etc and use an impact wrench (although it would need to be a reasonably powerful one).
