Thinking of buying a 98 patrol wagon, what are the 2.8 turbo diesel engines like, i have been told to steer clear of them ? Any ideas ?

They are a good engine. Mate has one with 350,000kms on it and hasn't touched it.

As stated, they are a good motor, just lack a little capacity (power and torque) but for a 2.8ltr motor they are 6 cyl. and drag the GU around without any drama's
