BLUEMAX SUSPENSION

OK guys, now before i get flamed, i have searched the forum and i either get lots of threads that got nothing to do with it or no threads at all..

I am not asking wat springs are better, or wat i should go for,
Wat i would like to ask you blokes is if anyone has tried the BLUEMAX Suspension kits?? I was quoted $1400 fitted, and that included everything from 35mm bore shocks, HD Leaf springs, U bolts, bushes, shackels, HD steering dampner etc etc
AND they come with a 3yr 60,000km warranty!

Has anybody tried these at all?? I told him i would prob rather a medium spring pack, but was told by the guy that because of my bullbar and the fact its a hardtop (and because im fat *130kg* ) that i should go HD.

Any thoughts or queries on this setup would e muchly apprectiated as i will be looking at doing his in a little over a weeks time.

P.S. ITS A 91 HARDTOP AND WILL BE USED FOR SOME FUN 4WDIN AND CAMPING ETC...

Depends on where you are but in Melbourne you could get a whole medium duty OME Dakar Kit fitted for that price quoted.

I got mine fitted for 1000 included, springs, shocks, steering dampener, all bushes and utilised original U-bolts and Shackles, Which you don't really need to change unless they are buggered.

Shop around and haggle. Most places will do you a deal. OME is widely used by lots of ppl on this forum, THey flex nicely and are made with good steel.

ive been quoted no less then $1800 for the OME gear over here in perth, not including dampener, and all the other goodies.........would be nice to be in melbourne with prices like that!

U reckon i would be right with medium dutys considering th bullbar, a slightt load and 2 big fatties in the front? me thinks would be pushing it!

Had 2 Bluemax shocks die on me both within 1000k's, dont go HD leafs as the sierra's are less then a tonne, its to harsh on your back and trust me you get sick of feeling every single tiny bump in the road,
if it was a ute, then I would suggest maybe a HD for the rear only.
try to stick with a medium leaf set up, Even if it does start to sag 12mnts down the track you can get the sagy leafs re-sprung for dirt cheap!
Plus HD dont like to flex at the best of times.;
Being such a small car its hard ride Dont make it harder with HD Leafs!

go mediums....it'll be a much better ride. I think the Mediums are designed to be constanly carrying around 140kgs in the rear and driver and passenger up front so you should be covered mate!

only know the OME's. the HD ones are rated at 100kg constant.

i have these in the rear of mine now and seem good but mine is not standard. I also took out the smallest leaf before i installed them.

i have efs in mine got it in a kit unfitted for $1800
this included all new bushes, bolts, 2" shackles, 2" springs, 2" body lift
flexes better than i expected it to and comes with a warranty
try brett at suziwest in midland tell him the green zook sent you and he should give you a good price

Had a pair of Blue Max shocks in the back of my coily a couple of months back and they died within a couple of thousand kays. Dealer swapped them over for new ones but reckons he never has trouble with them. Could be my driving but I doubt it. Had a pair of Tough Dog's for 50,000 kays previously and they never let me down despite being tortured like no other. Will go with Tough Dog again as soon as I find someone to send them over to me here in Noumea.
