I made a conversion of the F300 from applause to feroza.
I still have waterpump from applause and it is different from original - fan can not fit on. So i put a new electric fan instead, but i put it before killer. I still want original fan and i have a question.
Does anybody knows if i can change only part of the water pump, that hods the fan, or i must change water pump?

electric fans fail. I currently have an electric thermo fan and it shait itself out in the middle of nowhere. 1/2 hour later and sfter a complete strip out i got it to work again but only coz i had my full toolkit in the car.
Stick with the fixed engine fan as they are unlikely to get you stranded out in the bush.

I've had an electric fan for about three years now- it hasn't failed once. It also gives a noticeable boost in power because there isn't a huge fan hanging directly off the engine.
My only advice would be to make sure your cooling system is up to scratch before the conversion. It's amazing how well the viscous coupled fan works. If you don't have A/C it isn't as much an issue- turn it on and the heat load increase is amazing.
Also make sure you use a shrouded fan. If you've got no A/C then it will be an easy conversion as you can put the fan in front of the radiator. With A/C there is limited space. I'm using a fan/ shroud off a Daewoo that has been cut/ shut to fit. In summer I also have the aircon condensor fan hooked up to come on as well, it all helps. (I've got a feeling my water pump might not be up to scratch??? It will be getting replaced when the timing belt is next done.)
