32x 9.5 on 15x8 rims?

i've current got 31x10.5 silvertstone tyres on 15x8 inch rims at the moment and I haven't had them pop a bead or anything even down to 10psi.

the simex 32x9.5 measure 10.5 inch in sectional width. Do you think I could get away with strapping these onto the 8 inch rims?

Yep. I think you'll find 8" is the recommended rim width for that tyre.

IMHO they will fall off. Simex's seem to fall off pretty easily even when in the middle of the road for rim width. on a wide rim, they're not going to want to stay on at anything below about 16psi by my guess, which is about twice the PSI they need to be at to actually work. Even on the ideal rim width they seem to let go at around 12psi if run tubeless.

You can try them, but run tubes for sure and be prepared to have them fall off- i.e a spare/some tubeless valves and a valve stem tool so you can pull a stem on and reinflate tubeless if you have to/spare tube/compressor.

Personally, I would run a 9.5 on a 6" rim and not exceed a 7. - strewth, I'm currently running a 9 on a 4.5" rim

(wouldn't recommend it, but it does work)

lol....yeah it seems that everyone I know that has run simexs has at some point in time had a bead drop off the rim. I'm only thinking about these as there are good second hand ones for sale. Maybe i'll stick with the silverstones. other than swampers I don't know of any other half decent tallish skinny tyre.....

beadlocks would be sweet...

My swampers are gettin fitted tomorow arvo and after talkin to gwagensteve i think i made the right choice!

The LTBs in 34x10.5 measure 33.6. I may as well get a good sized tyre so for the last time I won't have to buy them again! 3 sets of tyres in 3 years....

they are heaps cheaper than the simex extreme trekker anyway....

although to fit them...bring on the body lift, move diff forward, chop bar mounts, lift bar, strengthen bar.. diff gears...

I had my 31's for 2 and a half weeks before getting the swampers!

I'm chopping the front bar, rears up front to make sure they have no scrape at all!

i run 32 x 10.5 simex on the standard sierra rim, which i think is 5.5 or 6, i have let them down to around the 5 to 6 psi mark and have never rolled a bead, bear in mind the the rims have been flipped, so this will help the outer edge hold the bead better.

i have run both 31x10.5 and 30x9.5 motorway muds on both 7 and 8 inch rims, well below 10psi without any probs. Everyones differnt tho

i had the 32 simex on fliffed 15 x 8 rims and was always fillin the beads with mud after a decent run, our better off with sum beadlocks aswell while ur at it.

Simex tyres are designed to run on a thin rim 31x10.5x15 should run on a 7 or 6" rim. this will help stop them from poping beads!
my friends personal experience with his 32x9.5.15 runnin on 6" rims, he never poped a beed and they lived at 8 to 10psi, No beed locks.
he's no chicken either.

Just dont drive them on road all the time like this. they do have a tendency to get tyre wobbles at a low psi

yeah i'm gonna go the Swamper LTB in 34x10.5. 15. Its .2 inch taller than the 32x9.5 simex and about $50 cheaper per corner. Thats if i can source some.

THey have a sectional width of 11.5 and prefferred rim size is 8.5 so my 8s will be perfect for them. The tread width as stated on the website is actually only 9.5inches wide so it should still act like a skinnier tyre.

Thanks for your opinions guys. If I had skinnier offset rims i'd probably go the simex but you gotta work with what you have. I saw some maxxis mudzillas in a 33x12.5. 15. they are a fat looking tyre. Would look cool on a zook but isn't really practical.

Nice work Dank - LTB's are an excellent tyre and far superior to a Simex, especially on a suzuki.

LTB's run a softer compund with a higher % of natural rubber than normal swampers. They hook up really well.
