M14 x 1.25 if i remember correctly, the same as a lot of the captive nuts nissan weld into the chassis rail. They use that size for the factory recovery hook, i can garuntee it.DANGER80 wrote:Then what standard thread pitch is it?
nothing i have seen before
and i buy thousands of bolts a year from 'bolt shops'
yeah i do, know they have non standard bolt thread and sizes
i also understand that when my suppliers say there is no such thing as a M14 1.25 pitch bolt that there is something wierd going on
Unless its just a WA thing but i highly doubt it
I wouldnt be surprised if its a nissan part only
the same as many companies creating strange thread pitch/sizes
so you cant just by off the self items

bolt
BLOODY HELL!!!
just take the other caliper bolt in and ask for one as per sample. This isn't worth discussing.
And yea must be a WA(nker) thing.

find a better bolt shop, i bought mine off the shelf plus its the same bolt that holds the front recovery hook inDANGER80 wrote:yeah i do, know they have non standard bolt thread and sizes

YOUR A DICK , go to searls fasteners off high road, take a sample get it matched... it could be over sized if its been threaded before. (very likely if you have worked on your car in the past)DANGER80 wrote: Unless its just a WA thing but i highly doubt it
Its deffinatly not a WA thing. IT's ALL YOU
I know the little bolt you are probably referring to, it is a odd type i brought one from nissan as i couldn't find a bolt shop that could replace it in capalaba, cleveland, springwood all brisbane suburbs i know, but they all have very industrial bolt shops etc.. i understand your frustation from memory it was $27 at nissan after i brought it i realised a $2 high tensile allen key type would have fixed it no problems.
give that a go thats what i'd do next time

this bloke has geniune Question give him a go
to the people that are knocking "danger80", do you even know the bolt he means, some of you may, as other bolts of the car have being suggested as interchangable (dont know this either way)
I'm not a bolt expert, like some of you claim to be, but its got the same fine thread you would find on the average 12mm hex head bolt, but it has an extended shank with a 10mm hex head, so the calipar can slide over the top. When it brakes the calipar floats and rubs against the wheel and knocks the counter weights of the wheel.
to the experts give him a part no. and supplier for the bolt shop to order from etc...
NOW THAT WOULD HELPFULL
