Post your "newest" 1.0 build dates here

Post by Gwagensteve »

OK, there has been some discussion on when, exactly, the 1.0 sierra was phased out.

I have always thought that 1.0 production ceased sometime in late 83, so compliance and slow sales would hae kept 1.0's in dealers though 84.

Others have claimed that 1.0's were available up to 1988

Anyway, yesterday afternoon I saw a wreck sitting at Suzi World in Vic with a build date of 10/84

Is is a 1.0 build, SWB soft top, Australian delivered.

It has 1.3 NT style dash (all plastic) but with no tachometer, which means it will have some kind of 1.0/1.3 hybrid loom in it

This is, without doubt, the newest Japanese built 1.0 I have ever seen.

Does anyone have an advance on 10/84 for a 1.0 build date?

Please only refer to cars you have actually seen, not "I heard once"
Obviously, I am not asking about marutis either.

Just thought it might be interesting to try and track down a date, there was obviously more overlap than I ever thought.

hmmm - looks like the 10/84 build is still winning.... I'd love to know when it was actually sold - could have been deep into 85.

Keep looking people :D
