Apart from a winch, Oscar is basically finished But I need to sort out a way to pass CCDA rules with the targa-glass out.
With the targa removed (I really don't fancy having 2 x 4kgs of glass wandering around the cab in a roll-over), there is no side protection (if I lean on a tree it won't stop before it hits the centre of the roof... and I'm sitting in between the two )
There's an option of an exo, but I'd need it to be removable to get targas in and out, or I can do a 4-point internal, permanently mounted.
Apart from burning it (shutup Brendan) any suggestions???

Sam... what are you doing with yours?

DRS smells like a cat-food milkshake... and wet socks... and gorgonzola cheese... all whizzed up in a blender
I vote Internal, mostly because an exo will look ugly as.... an X-90 with an exo (sorry, couldn't think of anything uglier:D)
I think curvy cars look really bad with exos. Nothing will ever look as good with an exo as a defender.
I thought exo's were a problem for CCDA anyway?
In any case, if it goes over, it will be totalled anyway, so part of the point of an exo is wasted- that is you might get away with a roll and fix it- can't see that working with the X-90.
Mostly because the assessor would just write it off to save his eyes from the torture
Ohhhhh I crack me up
( I am serious about the cage though)

biggest thing i'd be worried by in the X-90 is head clearance... and also if you're trying to get it roadworthied you need to check with a local transport engineer...

go internal but maybe if legal get some bolt in supports that go over the targa section to solve as a semi exo for that area hopeing to save the a and b pillar.

Exo cages are just natures way of saying you cant work a tape measure and drive like a cnt.
id say exo cages are for ppl who drive hard and like body pannels???
id uslay say exo over int..
but in this case a exo will either take forever to get done properly, or will be all square and uguly.. either way it wont look right
Id say exo's are for those who fell down the trail and hit everything on the way down then claimed to have "driven" it.
If you had to have at least one thing thats not ugly on this chunka, make it the cage and do an internal.

also how did you find that rubber???
Some dude in QLD had em on here. Id say dont bother with em, they were the carp on the rocks, even at 4psi (no beadlocks so I had to be careful) they bagged great but didnt grip. Looked cool but.
grimbo wrote:my only concern with an internal would be clearances required between the cage and your head or your navigators head. CCDA would have all those specs.
Head should read helmet. Make sure you check the clearances while wearing your brain bucket.
The X90 has more headroom than the Sierra doesn't it?
Well I'm guessing that they didn't think everyone would carry on like a big bunch of sooky girls over it like they have........
