Value of a GQ SWB with TB42 carby, Sydney???

Post by Mowie »

Guys I'm coming close to wanting to sell my Shorty GQ as she is petrol and I'm wanting to go diesel. Don't want to go down the road of engine conversions......

In a Sydney market what would I be fair in asking for a 1988 SWB GQ running a TB42 with 340k on the clock. Its straight petrol too.

ARB Bullbar
WARN XD9000 winch
Duel battery
Upgraded headlight loom
IPF 900 spotties
Extractors
2.5" exhaust
2" suspension lift
Imobiliser
33" BFG MTR's on 15" sunnys
Snorkel
Later model Alternator
UHF
Pioneer system.
Nissan OE towbar
some other bits and pieces that are too trivial to mention.

I'm thinking up to 6,000 is still the going price and would surprised to get any more than that. Is this price still achieveable in Sydney at the moment?

re SWB

Hi,
That price might be close to the money/little high provided the rear windows are not too rusty/at all and the carby has been rebuilt?
I have a petrol SWB with the works, 5" lift all new underneath with only 140ks and I would be pushing to get 5k for it.
Seems no one wants petrol shorties now adays.

Yeah I'm hearing ya.....
I was thinking 6k would be at the top end of town.

Window sills are good and had the carby rebuilt 2yrs ago right after I bought it as the previous owner had farked with the carby good and proper

Cheers, Mowie.

depends on the body, 6000 is achievable if the body is nice. your only downside is no lpg. makes it harder to value with fuel at 1.20

I sold mine two months ago for $8000.

A thirsty dual fuel with 389k.

Apart from front air lockers, it was stock. 2" lift and 31s

Very tidy car for an 88 model swb though.

Dont expect mere proof to sway my opinion.
