GQ Q's

Post by santaz351 »

Hi all
I've decided to leave the toyota camp and get into a nissan. I'm in the market for a manual deisel GQ SWB or LWB and just had a few questions that i wanted answered.
1. What are the differences, if any, between Patrols and Mavericks?
2. What things should i be looking out for/known issues
3.How much lift will i need to run 33"/35"?
4. Are parts easy to get for it?

Thanks in advance

Just parts in general. I mean, can you get most most parts from a wreckers or do you have to buy genuine from nissan all the time

rust!!!!... in the bottom of doors, sill's, body mounts, lower A pillars around the door hinges (also check for cracks in this area behind the front guards), around rear roof gutters and pillars. late 88 - early 89 models where none to rust easly.

i always say, if the clock doesnt work, she's a keeper. because every good gq ive looked at to buy the clock never worked, but all the bodgey car yard ones did  .

parts are easy to get genuine, but there is sh!t loads of after market stuff now days.
mq shorty, black, rust free!!, quarter chop, F&R tube bars and sliders, q78's or 33'' stt's, 4.88's with lsd waiting to be thrown in.. :D http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9540

2 to 3" spring lift with bump stop extensions.
What's the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know and I don't care.

Genuine parts are reasonable priced most of the time. I very rarely buy aftermarket.

Cheers Mick.
