Auto Lockup Converter

Post by outlandy »

I gotta 60 series pet with an auto. I dont always want it to lockup in 'D' but it does no matter what. I heard there is a kit for Nissans to put a switch to stop it but havent heard of one for the cruiser. I have looked at the manuals with no luck. Tried disconnecting a few pugs on the g box with no sucess what can I do

I'm not 100% sure what you want, but look on here,

for their torque convertor lock-up kit and read about it and see if that is what you are chasing, it not, never mind. Think you need to run their extreme valve body upgrade to use it though.

If you muk with it you will overheat it, they are on the verge as it is....and an unlocked converter will make more heat. the z440 is all hydraulic, so internal activation by pressure.....cant you pull it back to 3

use a a44L as it will give u lock up in 3rd and 4th and will come in at 90 not 70 and you can get the converter clutch to come off buy stepping on the throttle in 4th
