Talk to Rodney at Wholesale Automatics,
http://www.automatictransmission.com.au/
They do extreme valve body upgrades for the auto's and he will be able to answer anything you want to know.
They are in VIC, but are happy to post stuff out.
I pulled the valve body out of my HDJ80, sent it to them, they did the work, sent it back and I put it back in. Is very straight forward and easy to do, they give you instructions on how to do it all as well.
They could also just send you one and you can get a shop to pull out your old one, put in the new one and you send your old one back to Rodney.
Makes a big difference, shifts quicker and smoother, some find it a bit harsh from 1st to 2nd, but I haven't found that. Will also make the auto run cooler by flowing more oil through it.
Look on the site for Extreme Valve Body to find more info.

Think it is a little more than $750 now, but depends on where you live as the thing is weighs a bit which hikes up the cost when factoring in postage. I paid somewhere around $800-$900..I think...and that is including postage from VIC to QLD. I posted mine down to them to start with and it was around $50 from memory.
And that will work fine, until you turbo a 4.5, and have 550nm, the autos tend to fail every few months...so then the valve body is honey to your taiste buds...where first to second took a full second to stop slipping beforehand, afterwards, it was instantanious, or that fast it was un-noticeable.Guts wrote:For that much money I'll stick with what I have for now.
