Weld on Bead Locks

Hi everyone,

Just want to know who around the place is selling weld on beadlocks as I am after a set.

So who's doing them of here? and have you got some contact details.

What is the going price. Have seen them for $85 per wheel. That does not include nuts though.

I'm going to take a guess here and say that you want them for fast events? Well no offence to roctoy but his are NOT what I would want if doing 120kms an hour over a stage in the OBC. Ok for slow rock work. If you want them for fast work then you really should get a set where the ring is more then just a flat plate of steel with another ring welded to it. The more bolts the better. Then having a little lip on the ring that locates it centred to the rim is also best (not many have this) which I really do find surprising.

i would have to agree with Guts on this one.

The beadlocks i sell, are cheap for a reason, if you want something that will do the job on a budjet, yes, buy mine, they will hold the tyre to the rim no worries, i have never had any break, but if you are say doing outback challenge i would be looking for a set of rims made with beadlocks incorporated into them, with centering lips etc, mine are just over 100 bucks per rim, getting say a walker Evans wheel etc are like 500 dollars each so, you do get what you pay for.

no offence taken dave, i know what you're getting at and for the money, mine work well and do the job, but i don't reccomend them for road use (as mech beadlocks of any type are very illegal anyway, and mine are made for the backyard guy who want to rock crawl or weekend wheel or whatever.

different horses for different courses.

anyway i make one type if you want them pm me, but there are more expensive ones on the market with different features.

ARB sell them not sure of the price for inner and outer together but i think the pressed outer was around 170

Any 4x4 shop or 4x4 tyrs shop should be able to help you out with complete bead locked rims.

Yep have a look on my web site www.cheezyracing.com.au A weld in inner ring 6mm thick and a spun outer ring that has the same profile as a rim that is 5mm. The profile holds the tyre in true as per a normal rim would. They come 24 H/T Zink bolts nuts ect.
We used to get the outers stamped but we found that getting them spun makes them true and EZ to ballance. We have sold lots and most are used by weekenders and High speed comp rigs. They come in any color you like and ATM we can only do 15" and 17" rims.

these are similar to the PGS/Trik Racing ones, which I have two sets of, and have welded up two other sets for others.

The PGS/trik style run 2.5mm thick centres with welds though them

but have a similar ring to Cheezy's.

They can be made to run very true with care when welding the rings in and mounting the tyres.

I'm not bagging anyones product but can only comment that the recessed ring style can run well at speed.

I have no experience with the flat plate style (like Roctoy's) but it does stand to reason they won't centre very well, (which can still be hard to achieve with th recessed ring style.

Walker Evans or Hutchinson would have to be the way to go if you had the $$$ for a comp car designed with speed in mind.

There are a couple of beadlock styles available, regardless of rims used and depending on your budget.
We do a few different varietys:
This is by far the better beadlock system

As you can see the bead of the tyre locates on the rim itself and the locking ring is only there to clamp it and hold the bead. Runs very true and allows a much stronger, thicker locking ring.

Alternatively there is the cheaper option with an external weld on style.

The rims we use are a custom 10mm centre, welded and faced to suit your desired offset and with a 16mm re-inforced inner lip.

It all depends on your budget.

Was thinking about beadlocks, and had a brain storm, or possably an explosion...

what if you made a 'normal' three piece rim, with a center locking piece like this...

has this been done? are there any places that would spin it up?
would it be easier to just get pneumatic internal beadlocks? (yes)

anyway...

Yes, this has been done before, but good ion you for working it out.

Factory Hummers, Hutchinson, USA 6X6, Statzworks, and Glen Dobbins car all run this style.

The locking plate can be PVC, or in the case of the Hummer, magnesium with an integral runflat

Made like this, they can be made raod legal. Hutchinsons have US DOT approval, as do factory double beadlock Hummer rims.

I believe that jeep will offer this style of beadlock made by hutchinson as a factory option in the US. They have been previewed on factory Jeeps at Moab this year, and have snuck into shot in a couple of other product photos in Mopar catalogues.

Just thought i would say that i just bought the outer pressed rings like the blue ones pictured on here only white (which are the same as the arb ones)
on EBAY for $10

WHAT A SCORE just gotta paint em up larey like
