hey just wondering if k&n or any other brands do a hi flow replacment flat planel filter for the ferozas???
At the risk of stirring up the hornets, most of the sports style filters don't filter as well as paper. Yes you can make gains but its at the expense of filtering.
So consider your off road situation before doing a change. If you drive in dusty conditions them I wouldn't do it - unless you like knackered engines.
IF its a town car - then modify away, It will probably sound better at the very least.
I have re-arranged my intake plumbing - larger paper filter and a oiled foam pre-filter. The stock air plumbing on my F300 was horrible.
So I didn't answer your question... but hopefully you will understand any compromises you make.

You can easily mount a pod style filter, but it's only advisable for sealed road driving. I think after market drop in replacements are also available.

Ah - well not at the moment, but can take a couple when the @#$% thing gets off the hoist.
IT uses a air cleaner canister of a Renault 18 with a supercrap conical 3" filter on the front of it. A bit of simple plastic cutting and a mount was all that was required. Fits in the same place as stock and connects to the black box on to of the engine with a length of flexible hose.
And the good thing is that the filters cost $16 each

Yep - as a drum style cleaner it was easy to attach the pre filter to the existing 3" intake and the outlet is on the side and points at the engine.
Its also plastic ( no rust ) and has a good simple lid with four idiot proof catches
As per usual Renault its backwards, the air is drawn in the middle and exits at the outside. Strange - but works exactly the same as the other way around.
On the supercharged engine, I actually have reversed the flow, the 3" on axis discharge goes to the GM throttlebody whilst the old discharge becomes the intake and points at the inner guard, ready for a snorkel which will be at the back of the guard not the front.
Confused yet ?
I think the same element and therefore cleaner was used on the Renault 17, Fuego, 18 & 20
When you look for one it has a huge great big long pointy "nose" on it looks like an artillery shell -but this simply clips off leaving the drum itself. Make sure you get the 45 degree rubber boot on the cleaners side.....
