hey all had my zook for about a year know and just picked up a 5k toyota engine for it. ran into to somes probs putting it in but getting around those just wondering if anyone knows a good place to get a set of extrtactors for it as the exhuast manifold doesnt fit cause its to wide. So far three exhaust places told me they cant get them in and would rather not pay for a custom set to be made at $250.
cheers

$250 for a set of custom extractors is a good price IMHO.
What are you asking for? IMHO you'll need to start with a set of corolla extractors and modify them to suit.
We had a 5K in a 1.3 sierra in the club here and it had a stock 5K exhaust manifold in it, but clearance around the chassis was very tight.
Steve.

id go with the custom ones that way you know they arent gonna hit anywhere and wont need further moding
I hate going to weddings because all the grandma's used to poke me in the ribs saying you're next, you're next. They've stopped doing it since I started doing it to them at funerals.
hey apatrick where are you?
I had custom exhaust made up for my Sierra in Brisbane, yes I'm running a standard drivetrain but the exractros were still custom made; anyway cost me $450 including a whole 2" exhaust system and fitted. Cat converter is extra if required.
The guy who did mine said he likes doing Sierras, because the exhaust is easy to fit, and he can charge a lower price hence his customers are happier.
$250 sounds a reasonable price, if they'll actually do it for you; hate places that say they 'arn't keen' to do something but will if they have to.

Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
$250 for made to suit extractors is cheap full stop.
any one who has a pair will wont $100-$200 for them and they'll be old and rusty and probably cut of with a grinder where a flange should be etc,,,
JUST DO IT..

have the people who have quoted $250 (actually has someone quoted you that or are you just guessing the price?) actually seen what the job is? To just say I have a 5K and want some extractors made is very different than actually showing them the clearances etc.
I was the guy in the club with the 5k in his Sierra and they are a very tight fit and I reckon it would be a bit of pain job to get it right. i was forever having problems with my exhaust etc due in part to the tight fit, also need to take into consideration heat issues due to the tight confines
