MK shackles
MK shackles
Hey guys,
In the near future im looking at putting some extended shackles on my shorty MK. Can any 1 make a decent set up for some cash? I'm thinking 3-4" so from what ive heard that should give me about 2-3" of lift?

4in longer shackles will only give 2in lift at the most and 3in longer = 1.5in lift. dont forget to adjust the shackle angle or it will fark your springs. i dont want to be negative but 4in longer will put sh!!t load more stress on the chassis mounts.
mq shorty, black, rust free!!, quarter chop, F&R tube bars and sliders, q78's or 33'' stt's, 4.88's with lsd waiting to be thrown in.. :D http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9540
on my old MK lwb i put on 2" over standard superior engineering extended shackles and it lifted it just over 1 1/2" front and rear, i wouldnt recommend going any longer as mq/k's are prone to ripping spring mounts of the chassis.

That is really easy to fix though with some plating. Or spend $50 and get new beefier ones and weld on chassis.InSanE wrote:on my old MK lwb i put on 2" over standard superior engineering extended shackles and it lifted it just over 1 1/2" front and rear, i wouldnt recommend going any longer as mq/k's are prone to ripping spring mounts of the chassis.

Hey guys
My 2cents worth found it hard to get extended shackles for MK/MQ when i was in central QLD and my lack of time to make a set. So i turned down the pins on a set of 2in extended 75series shackles. Works quiet well, but yes a LOT of stress on the chassie mounts on flex and i know my shocks fall short by a fair bit. Living in Melb. now, parts a lot easier to get hold of..

Thanks Vanne
Yeah its not too bad the shocks are a lot too short but. Im living in VIC now and its up in QLD got me ute down here.
Is anyone use powerdown shocks?? I;m running these at the moment, not a bad shock. Great value for money, 200$ a pair and they are 3 stage adjustables.
Thinking about building up a short ute, any ideas would be great.
