Hi Chris, my name is chris  and i saw the thread going and i thought this is a great opportunity for me. I just turned 18 years old and saved up since i was 15 for my first truck, this 94 hilux, with 3litre diesel swap and a few bits and pieces for 4000 bucks, after some work for the roadworthy, (4 solid months with dad) we got this result.

In the making b4 roadworthy (tray and truck)

first outing on day of roadworthy.

Then this happend 6 months l8er

Image

So im building up the new truck that i got after we decided to class as unfixable.

We fitted the old springs other than that stock

Image

now im up to this

Image

everything is very expensive when 1st year apprentice straight outa school trying to support this awesome hobby. X over would be a great addition to my hilux and some T.G stickers would be just as good to get the word out in brisbane about you guys. Thanks Chris

Tried to find a picture to show the risky 1.5mm between my U-bolts and steering on my 87' Hilux but these are the only good shots I've got.
My 87' Hilux doesn't have many mods yet, because savings from both jobs go to uni fees and books/ rent/ food/ the other bills and petrol, hence savings for mods take a little time lol.

Note in the picture above the wimpy little laughable wheels :P well, I now have a set of 31' Kuhmo AT's from a member on here so I don't embarrass this forum too much anymore :D

heres a dodgy pic of the new wheels (Thanks again Vpacer :D)

has it been two weeks yet????
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set

I hope not!!!

Hey Chris, good thing Trail gear is doing here, not only supporting us right hand drivers but also giving stuff away :D

The story so far:

I have done the spring over and and mini truck disc brake conversion, problem was I am low on DIY skills and time so I paid someone to do both, no longer an option to ask him as he was usless and cost me more time and money that it should have.

Here is the tricky bit, he booty fabbed up a hysteer for me out of existing parts, basically inverted the steering arms and used a few other bits and walla hysteer, probably not the best hysteer arrangement and hence why I am looking to change it to someting else.

Now while it doesn't look too bad, it is bascially waiting to shear off on me on a trail and wreck my gear:) I need Trail Gear :DBecause when I go wheeling and people ask me about my dodgy steering there is only one way to show them

Getting lined up to show them

In showing steering system position

Waiting for everybody to finish looking at my steering :D

I would love a highsteer kit after doing this to my current gear today at Cityview on a log

The tie rod hit the log and pushed it back into the steering dampner back to the diff, We pulled the tie rod back into place , removed the steering dampner and then managed to get it home again
