hey hey,
I searched for this topic but couldn't find any answers... I just bought a 1980 HJ45 for really cheap, the motor is pretty well rooted, i think it has smashed the big end bearings and has a blown head gasket. It has a H motor - a 3.6L diesel with a 4 speed box. After ringing a few wreckers today i'm told that it's a relitively rare motor and hard to get a replacement for.
I have a mate that backed over a cruiser in a dump truck he says the body & chassis is rooted but the motor is essentially fine. It's a 45 as well, i think mid to late 70's model. He can't remember if it's a diesel or petrol (it's the quarry work ute). So this leads me to bleieve it's either an F, a 2F or a 2H.
Does anyone know if these motors (with gearbox) will slot into my 45 easily, and adapt to the x-fer easily (i.e. without the need for major mods)??
Thanks in advance.
