LC79 suspension

Post by bmsa »

G'day Guys

Trying to work out the best suspension for a LC79, looking to go up about 50mm and improve the ride a bit. Normally only carry about 200kg and wouldn't go over 500kg very often. Probably should mention it has a bull bar dual batteries and side bars and steps weighing the front down.

Particularly interested in feed back on parabolic springs on the back, I've heard it said they aren't legal?
Cheers

Ben

I put some efs HD 3" lifted gear through my old man's (my work truck) 79 series RV .. has probably about 600-700kg worth of tool's and ladders etc at any one time. it's been in the ute for about a year and has not sagged at all.. the ride was improved over the stock gear vastly!

I had it completly unloaded and up the beach a couple of week's ago ( only alloy tray and alloy bullbar..) the ride was unbelievable.. very soft and compliant and 10x than stock springs are when unloaded. also noticed through some of the big rut's that it flex's alot better than i thought it would!

the efs consisted of : lifted leafs/coils- big bore shockies to match- steering damper- new shackles and nolathane bushes..
couldn;t recommend it enough.
hope that makes some sense and helps!
cheers
