Parabolic leaf springs

any help making my mind up would be great

ive got a 75 series Landcruiser
im looking at a set of 2" raised springs, basically im chasing good articulation from the springs and I want some peoples views on what parabolics they are like compared to standard leaf springs
No way but will last longer. I had mine on the front of my lux for about 4 years and no drama with sag. I wouldn't put them on the rear unless you were caring lots of weight around.Tapage wrote:The claim to be more soft than a convensional spring pack .. ayone can confirm that . ?

I ran them in the front of my 4 runner for years, I had the rears too but removed them after 3 months. I didn't think they were too bad in the front for ride and flex.

But I thought Parabolic are a technologi for spring design .. in this order can be made in diferent spring rates ..
Just to buy the better spring rate for your aplication .. ?
One thing that I really apreciate of OME suspensions it's are mathed spring packs with apropiate shocks vavling .. and other suspensions fail at this point .. coz you buy a spring pack and shocks apart maybare are not going to match.

you were probably still in primary school when we started playing around with these. as my post says every one I knew who had them has taken them out.
You seem to know a lot, so how do you set them up right?

I may be old .. but with age comes wisdom....
so, by your last statement re- setup "i don't know", you are admitting you know nothing about these springs.
Lesson 1. engage brain prior to engaging you mouth /or typing fingers
Lesson 2. read and check you post prior to submitting it
Next statement "But the woomba boys that had the loved them" I am assuming that "had the" should be "had them", with "had" being past tense, does this mean that they are no longer running them, like your MQ?
So if they are no longer running these springs, am I correct in assuming that they were once running these springs and no longer are?
So from what I can work out, correct me if i am wrong, you are saying exactly what my original post stated......

correct me if im wrong but from what people have said is that parabolics work well in the front but not in the rear end as you have the weight of the motor etc on them
i take it the only reason why they are not so good in the rear end is because most ute's have bugger all weight in the rear end, hense thats the reason for the rough ride???
also I spoke to Westralia in W.A and they sent me an email with this in it in regards to setup for the parabolics
Westralia - With parabolic springs we recommend good quality hydraulic oil, foam cell shock absorbers rather than gas shocks

hzj75 these are the mob im going through to get for my front on my hilux. theyve be highly reccomended to me by several people on another forum. and a 4wd shop speaks highly of parabolics in general. im giving them a try after having three sets of 2" lifted springs collapse on me.
If all else fails, use a bigger hammer
