yeah mate....... the cost  i would prefer a supercharger, but even a half decent second hand one will set me back 3 times what a turbo will cost.

No worries dude-I’ll get a name for Delco tuning in the hunter area-or as close to as possible.

Now as for injectors-here’s a guide on sizing.

From memory, the VP injectors are about 210cc/min. On the 308 turbo I tuned recently, even 8psi was too much for them.

Right-here’s a rough guide on injector sizing.

Coincidentally, for a 6cyl engine (ie-6 injectors), the flow rate of the injectors, in cc/min, is roughly equivalent to the absolute max amount of hp at the flywheel they will support.

So-for an 8 cylinder engine, 8/6 x injector flow rate=max flywheel HP

Therefore, for 210cc injectors, max hp in an 8cyl = 8/6 x 210 = 280hp.

I’d probably go for a set of 300-320cc in a 308, as that will allow approx 400hp.

Also, regarding rising rate regulators-you DO NOT NEED one if you size your injectors correctly in the first place and then adjust the mixtures via the ECU.

Also, can the boys who did the conversion tell you what size the fuel pump is?

Here’s some detailed info on injector sizing also.

apparently the fuel pump is the same as the external Commodore ones? not too sure on that. I would have to call Marks Adaptors to get any further info from them.

Re injectors........ that will save me a couple of hunjy's for a regulator!! thanks for the info there!! nearly went and bought one!

Right-o then mate.

Dales workshop is here-

http://www.castlehillexhaust.com.au/

Get in touch with him-tell him sean with the Crown sent you and he should be able to answer your questions, help you with sourcing any bits and tune it, or direct you to someone closer to you who can.

You should end up with a really nice rig.

The one thing to keep in mind with a turbo V8 is that heat wrapping everything is absolutely paramount. Heat shielding, wrapping etc is job #1!!

Take it easy
Sean :)
