lockright diff lockers

Post by BIG PUMPER »

thinkin bout gettin a couple of lockrights in my 80, does anyone have these fitted and can tell me if they're any good. I might only use one so if anyone has only one in their rig let me know if its in the front or rear and how its affected onroad and offroad performance, cheers...

I have two lockrights in my BJ70 and I think they are awesome.

I notice my steering in the rock is sometimes comprimised so I have just picked up a second hand airlocker for the front.

The one in the rear is almost silent and apart from the extra traction I only ever notice it when reversing out of a carspace on full lock and I hear a click sometimes louder than other times.

It takes a couple of thousand km to run them in and until then the machine finish on the cams has a little more friction so the locking unlocking effect is a little more noticable.

If I was only going to fit one locker it would be in the back for sure. Yesterday I did a track I usually do in 4WD without lockers in just 2WD mostly. The beauty of the rear one is that it works on both 2 wheel and 4 wheel.

I hope this helps.
