60 series vs hilux diff

Post by killalux »

how wide is a 60 series front diff compared to a hilux IFS rear??

does the 60 series use hilux cv's or different??

is the 60 housings pumpkin further towards centre than a hilux or the same??

how does the 60 front centre compare in strength to a hi pinion.

thanks
steve

all of this information would have been available if you searched.

Hilux diff's are centre pumpkin, 60 series are offset to the right.

60 series cv is the same as a hilux

60 front diff is 9.5", high pinion is 8", the strength is significantly better.

IFS hilux = 1370mm, 60 series = 1470mm.

All this is off the top of my head, so i might be wrong with the IFS width.

the 60 front centre is the same as a 60 rear centre.

They are a lot stronger than a hilux centre no doubt.

60 series use hilux cv's as well... only difference is the axle lengths.

meant rear :S

front has to be offset to clear the engine.

no idea which is offset more, but I seeem to remember someone using 60 diffs in something(hilux?, 40 series?) which required the spring perch to be part way on the pumpkin, so maybe the 60 series has a bigger offset.

to run 60 diffs in a 40 you need to put the perch part way up the pumpkin.. they run a bigger offset than 40's (which is the same as SFA hilux's from memory).
