Weird power window problem

both my passenger side windows go down fine, they won't come back up when passenger switches are used, but they work up and down perfectly when operated from the drivers door switch. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Would it be the switches them selves?

Sounds suspicious that two switches failed the same way at the same time - I'd be more inclined to suspect a loose wire, but without knowing the circuit details I can't be sure that it's possible for one loose wire to cause the fault you've described.

could the wiring for the passenger rear sort of piggy-back (wired in "sequence" is it?) off the wiring for the front window? causing the "up" wiring to do the same thing both windows on the same side?
damn its a pain in the arse removing door trims, let alone going through wiring

Depending on how it's set up you may be able to get a bit of access to the wiring just by lifting the switches out of the door trim. If you're lucky there may just be a loose wire at the switch.

Hard to say without being familiar with the vehicle.
