Re: 60 v's 75 diff?
early 75, the ones with a 2H, shared everything but the inner axles on the front, and the axles on the back. Everything else is interchangeable.Thommo 73 wrote:i know there is an old post here but i carnt find it!

Late 75's, ones with the 1HZ run the high pinion front diff, like the 80 series.
Not sure on the difference in widths, but it has definantly been done more than once on these forums, so some searching might find the info you need. I just did a quick search myself but didnt find it.
60 series axles are widder than 70 series axles .. front 60 series it's 58 and if I remember well 70 series front it's 56" wide ..
In all cases the short side it's the same .. the long side it's longer in 60 series.

you would need to remount the spring perches regardless as the 60 series chassis is a fair bit wider, especially at the front if not the back too.Thommo 73 wrote:so what your saying is the 60's are 2" wider on the long side....
so if i were putting them under a 75 i would need to ofset the diff an inch?
So once you have centred the diff up with your vehicle, the diff pumpkin will now be 1" closer to the drivers side of the vehicle.
Not really .. you need to relocate the axle under the frame .. a little more ( 1" ) to your driver side . .Thommo 73 wrote:so what your saying is the 60's are 2" wider on the long side....
