No one at all. But they're not as comfortable or as coils. Having said that, coils are a science to set up right (linkages) and be a pig of not done well.ausyota wrote:A couple of pics.
Who says leaf front cant flex?
5 link coil, which is now rusting over in my driveway under a written off 4runner. Possibly for sale if I dont mod the new one. :(

thanks for the info guys. its coil rear and i will prob go coil front. if i can. how long does it take 2 do and how much will it cost me? its something ive been interested for quite a while now and wouldn't mind doing it in the near future. Christmas hoilidays. any more info would be great . cheers joey2389. and nemesis if u dont end up putting that 5 link coil setup in your car send me a message on how much you want for it. thanks m8.
Can you do the work yourself? Can you source all the parts you will need? Will you need to pay someone to do the job from start to finish?joey2389 wrote:thanks for the info guys. its coil rear and i will prob go coil front. if i can. how long does it take 2 do and how much will it cost me? its something ive been interested for quite a while now and wouldn't mind doing it in the near future. Its like asking how long a piece of string is.
I could do the conversion the right way on my own vehicle(if i had one) within a lazy week for less than $2000 But i have SKILLZ All the fabricating gear i need to complete the conversion and contacts in the industry.
No im not interested in completing you conversion sorry.
Contact Bubs he should be able to handle the conversion.
someone on here was talking to an engineer and he said that he wouldnt/ you couldnt approve a leaf front coil rear because of something.ausyota wrote:It doesnt have to be coil. turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown
So how are you going to get your rear coil conversion done when its finished?chunderlicious wrote:someone on here was talking to an engineer and he said that he wouldnt/ you couldnt approve a leaf front coil rear because of something.ausyota wrote:It doesnt have to be coil. There are lots of 4wds getting around with coils in the rear and leaves in the front that have been complied.
I will mate. Though I 'think' you cant get a 5 link SAS engineered in Qld?joey2389 wrote:thanks for the info guys. its coil rear and i will prob go coil front. if i can. how long does it take 2 do and how much will it cost me? its something ive been interested for quite a while now and wouldn't mind doing it in the near future. i was going down the same road with my 90 model 4runner but was quoted 4500 and that was for leaf in front, coil front 6000 and up, so i met some dude through my work with 86 hilux leaf front and rear and he didnt care about offroading and wanted something with power steering so we did a clean swap and now im as happy as a bug in shit or something like that, every1 wins. but ive seen sum nice 4runners/surfs on leaf front with coils rear but if i was to do the swap id go coils allround. happy modding
