Auto in the GQ TD42 is not happy at the moment so looking at having it serviced....
Spoke with Wholesale automatic's in bayswater and enquired about power flush service which runs up to $300+ to run clean oil through it.
I also enquired about upgraded valve bodies and he quoted $1000 fitted for the stage one which includes the power flush.
Don't want the extreme valve body as it is wifes daily driver at the moment and our family tourer.
Who has had the stage one kit fitted and how did it preform.
cheers
James

My GQ has had the valve body upgrade done to it by the previous owner.
I am not sure which kit was put in and I can't comment how the Std boxes work.
I did find the shift to be quick and firm, maybe a bit too firm. There was also a delay between the 2nd & 3rd gears.
I have recently had the box rebuilt by Bert Kewish Automotive in Dandenong (9793 2220).
They have modified the valve kit to their specifications and I find the box to be more responsive and the shifts to be better than when I purchased the vehicle.
I would suggest calling them and discussing it then decide how you want to proceed.

I'd go with the extreme valve body as while the stage one will be good as long as you stay with a auto valve body your wife will be happy.
I've got the extreme manual valve body and it is great. It doesn't creep much at idle but once the power comes on then it locks up great. Gear changes are amazing as it is like manual.

93 Nissan Pathfinder / Terrano Turboed VH45, GQ Trans and T-case, coil overs, hydraulic winch and fair bit of other stuff. (Currently a pile of parts in the workshop)
Kewish all the way. Ask any top 4x4 team where there auto was done.
They built my t400 in the Mav and I used to throw that thing into reverse at 40 k to slow down gowing down hill. Highly recommend, so do all my customers with auto's.
