as mentioned, single turbos on V motors are not ideal....
I would go for twin superchargers...one either side...superchargers are better than turbos in that you have "boost" from 1rpm to 10000rpm or whatever ....with turbos it takes a little while for the power to "come on"
i would love to strap a cheap jap-import charger on each bank but I reckon at the mo' she would just go BOOM
with a new stroker kit through it, I reckon she would handle 8 pound boost no worries

Yeah the whole setup is goin for 1500 dollars, MUCH cheaper than I have been able to source any super charger for thats all.
How much are these cheap jap chargers and what brand???
Its from a Motor trader company place, so i might be able to get a warranty or something.
Will it be better or shiter ?

look in your local parts peddlar mag....japanese motor wreckers have all sorts of cool, go fast gear cheap.
the whole 4agze toyota motor can be picked up for around $2000 - $2500
and that includes the supercharger......you can pick up a charger for around $400 if you look around.. ebay is also good place to find chargers and coolers cheap

in - out pipes and electric clutch so you can turn it off and on....BLING easy as..
go for it dude and tell us how she goes
Hang on for 1bank ? ? ? This is fitted to the air intake somehow isnt it ? ? ?
Man I am lost I thought this was a centrifigal type supercharger/blower ?
Maddog wrote:Superchargers run of the crankshaft. You set up pullys...throw out you a/c and power steering if you want twin superchargers.
Turbs run straight of your exhaust manifold.
I am aware of that I was just saying that the cetrifugal chargers dont mount to a bank..... I was confuse? with landy man saying that is sufficient for one bank of the rr........ It is sufficieant for both.
Anyway i am looking into some other options but I have definately started a tease point (for myself)
Anthony if you bolt that turbp to you're motor it will last maybe 1 or 2 outings. For a successful turbo motor you will need to rebuild it from the crank up or it will go bang. Way too much heat for the engine bay to handle and lots of stuffing round with pipes and hoses. With the small jap blowers they are usually a rootes or screw type not centrifucal, and since there is only one intake inlet on the plenum of the efi manifold , a single blower would be fine. For twins you would need to machine another inlet on the other side of the plenum for the other blower to feed into.
Dont even think about forced induction unless you intend to set the engine and rest of the driveline to suit. If i was you i would finish off you're suspension first before trying to get more power.
You dont seem to be able to focus on one area at a time.

Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.
anthony, I voted no.. simply due to the fact that you will have to reco your motor to be able to take the beating from the turbo
will either have to go decomp plate, or lower comp pistons (best option of the two)..
by the time you have finished mucking around and spening all that money, you could have a nice 5Ltr commodore in there like HSV rangie does..
also, as stated before, will your driveline be able to hack the abuse and power from the turbo? 400hp is a lot, and from what I remember, rover diffs are weak.. unless you are going nissans under it?
just my opinion, gives you something to think about.

I thought thats the sorta response i would get.
Just thought it was cheap at 1500 for everything.
the claimed 350-400hp i think is abit exadurated Thats what i think anyways.
Hmmmmm I would love to put a nice 5Ltr HSV donk in it but I just dont have the knowledge as yet. If i even come acrros a good donk cheap thou I probably buy it and have it sitting around for abit until i felt ready to get the change in motion.
HHMMMMMMMM 5L HSV - MOG - RANGIE owowowowowwwwoooooooooooooooowww I just blew
