ball bearing turbo for 2.8 hilux

Post by gutlux44 »

has anyone put a ballbearing turbo on a 2.8d hilux??? or is it a waste of time and money?? i run a ct20 atm, i want to upgrade it but dont see the the point in paying big money for a aftermarket kit when i can make a an adapter and run a bb turbo, i also run a water to air cooler so the pipe work on a aftrermarket kit would be un usable. if any one has done it, wat size turbo was used???? any info will be a great help

I don't quite know what a ball bearing turbo is.

Anyway, from the sounds of your current mods seems to me you have almost reached the limit of tuning. Perhaps time to consider an engine change. 3 litre turbo diesel, 5L or 1kz.

I had a google on ball bearing turbos and know what they are.

Well, if you go for one its going to cost alot of $$. Certainly going to make a difference over the ct20.

I would still go for the engine upgrade.
