Thats not a bad unit...
There's a turbo HD engined ( non nitrous ) one making 320KW at the wheels.... was in a performance mag last year ( ??? ).
But these engines woud make very poor 4WD engines, so as a dream great - as reality, not for me.

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.

Standard Applause HD-E cam specs
Exh 43°/1° 224° 0.310" .012"
In 2°/48° 230° 0.327" 0.01"
rocker ratio 1.5
The Applause cam is just slightly more aggressive than the Feroza, but trades off a little low end torque - most people wouldn't feel any great difference. Now if you want to go wilder......
Standard HD-EG Detomaso cam specs
Exh 52°/8° 240° 0.310" 0.012"
In 8°/52° 240° 0.325" 0.01"
rocker ratio 1.5

Take a standard one out of any HC or HD engine, take it to a cam grinder, give them the specs and some $$$ and there you have it.
IMO, don't regrind your standard cam, as you may want to change back.
Please note I am not sugesting this as a suitable cam - simply its about the wildest "standard" road cam that Daihatsu put in an H series engine.
I am running a DeTomaso based engine in my Feroza, but have a much milder cam fitted. - but with higher compression. It sort of happened by accident, the old one died, I am slowly building a supercharged engine, which of course wasn't ready and didn't want to use my "good" bits so the Detomaso stuff I had got recycled.

Yes I have about six spare standard cams and can get more , but just in case your serious freight would be far more than a second hand locally sourced cam.
I usually pay about $15Au for a cam on its own - although I have to get it out. Depending on the grind I need it can cost around $100 to $250AU.
The H series engine was not only used in the Feroza it was fitted to the Applause and Charade passenger cars. As long as its an H series engine then the cam will be fine as a donor for a regrind.
So try local first, but if you really really want a cam, and are prepared to pay the shipping I can help.
IF you still want one PM me.
