scorpion racing (UK) suspension
Just been looking at the Scorpion racing (extreme) suspnesion kit from the UK. http://www.scorpionracing.co.uk/.
looks the goods and comes with everything from shocks and springs to cranked radius arms, trailing arms, dislocation cones and shock turrets as well as bump stops and limiting straps for jacking etc. etc...
i was thinking of getting a quote on price and shipping to Aus.
anyone know anything of them??

Scrapiron can be bought localy to I beleave
I have purchased the modified front shock towers (50mm lower then standard) and the modified rear shock mounts (also 50mm lower then standard) and have never had a problem with them. There is a scorpion dealer in West Aus called Rovacraft. I bought these before reading all the articles on "Scrap iron". just be cautious.
cheers
Andrew
ps..the equip stuf is wicked. those front radius arms are the ducks nuts. but I think they are around $500 for the pair?

i priced the full extreme kit a couple years ago from rovercraft and it was around $7000to$8000 can't remember exactly.
all i really wanted was their front comp winch bar (around $1200, coulnd't find anyone here to fab one for me.), still got that though, and love it!!!

If you have a look here, bigbad wrote:Read the english forums, there are lots of posts about them, commonly known as scrapiron. I think the products are okay, but are mostly overpriced copies or stolen designs.

you can see some UK opinions mentioned by bigbad. I haven't ever had anyhting from them so I can't really comment but the general view here is that there stuff is expensive and varies in quality (particularly some of their springs). However I have heard good things said about their winch bumpers. They do seem to sell a lot of stuff here so obviously there are some who are happy with the product and service.
As I say I have never had anything from them as they don't stock much suitable for either of my trucks, a series 109 and a Daihatsu Scat, but there is a lot of bad feeling towards them amongst some elements of the UK scene.

i was looking at the winch bars as well, they do look good!def90 wrote:i priced the full extreme kit a couple years ago from rovercraft and it was around $7000to$8000 can't remember exactly.

how does that price compare with getting one made up by Cheezy??
Does Equip have a website? I was considering making my own front bar (just bar, no hoop), but for that price it's easier to buy.ROVERNIT wrote:I dont know about cheezy but brooksy over QLD said he does them for around $700 equip basic bar with out the hoop is $1300 I wanted one for the D2 however the law and the fact that you can get an ARB bar fitted for the same price stopped me
