Hilux.
You can pick up a decent one for around 4-7 grand and spend the change on some second hand goodies, there is always heaps of Hilux stuff in the for sale section.

I got my 84 extra cab for $4000 with 33s and a commodore V6 and auto.
Also came with a brand new snorkle, fibreglass canopy, bull bar and sidesteps.

I know a bloke that picked up a 90s model Hilux 2.8 diesel in perfect nick for $3000 the other day!
It was a bargain but if you are patient you can find them.

Prado or Pajero,

you could probably pick up a 2.8TDI or 3.5 V6 Pajero for around $8 - 10g. The 3.5s can be had for a little less than the 2.8s and you can get them in auto as well. The 2.8TD Pajero would be the choice though, but the 3.5 is pretty good on the fuel (better than the prado 3.4)
