auto lockers are fine if you dont like to be in controll of your traction aids. I personally drive around everywhere unlocked, and will only use the locker/s when really needed.

d00d I never said they were bad, but selectable is always better.
We got two shorty pootrols with auto lockers in the front and offroad its fine, and onroad they unlocked so it sweet too.
The Sierra on the other hand has a rear auto locker and i am about to burn the thing, its dangerous it clunks and its coming out very soon.
And on the other hand we have another LWB suzuki ute here with auto lockers front and rear and its sweet on and off road.
Hopefully thats enough auto lockers too qualify my comment.
p.s. anyone want a roclok auto locker out of the rear of a 1997 sierra feel free to shoot me a pm. It'll be goin cheap

I'd never fit an auto to the rear. Front is good as it makes no difference onroad when the hubs are unlocked
Weekdays - Prado GXL D4D with some stuff
Weekends - Mav shorty with lots of stuff
I am running a TJM Pro Locker in the back off my lux i had no problems with it i have about enough of people tell me about how good ARB Lockers are but the 4people i know running ARB lockers have have stuffed them left right and center and ARB wont give warranty running a tyre biger then a 33inch as TJM will
One dude on here killed his TJM locker first time out too..
Thousands and thousands of people use and have over time ARB lockers without issue others have broken them...
I still say it comes down to what you get the best price on.

I've had an ARB locker in the front of my 'tol for a few years now and it cops a workout. Works awesome and no probs. Only issue ever was airline touched extractor and melted, this could happen to a badly installed tJM aswell.
I would love to know how TJM's are going from people who actually use them and push them hard. I'm wanting a rear locker and want the best, not just a matching set.

I have been running TJM's for about 12 months in gq front & rear and except for some early set up problems they have been great and they get a hard time. The set up problems were the front solenoid died because the piston had been machined incorrectly the groove for the oring was too far forward causing the lip of the cup to tear the problem with that is that it tested fine on the floor but died after about 100 cycles which ment having to pull the diff out again. Also the rear air line blew from what I have been told that there supplier run out of stock and they were using an import supplier which was no good. Oh the barbed fittings that join the poly airline to the heavy duty airline are crap the internal fingers are very brittle and crack the first time you pull them apart.
Yes i work for TJM but i paid price for them.
I did have ARB lockers in my old GQ .. got sick of changing the seals. So tried an Auto .. couldnt turn in competition ehrn i needed to .. TJM release the Pro Lockers & i brought them.
I have done 8-10 comps with them only thing breaking 2cv's & an axel. I even drove the car from Janown Hills to Pine Mountain after a comp with the rear still locked in
There have been issues with them But afaik they were fitting issues.
I fitted the front myself & my partner fitted the rear.
I couldnt be happier & If i was in the same situation again .. i would go the Pro locker.
I've got pro lockers and have given them a bit of a workout running 42s with no dramas.
I had a detroit soflocker in it before that and it destroyed itself within 12 months. You will find that most locker problems are usually caused by incorrect fitment eg no setting the backlash correctly.
