Considering how much time you are spending on the web when you could be working on your car, it's pretty clear that January the 24th is a far too relaxed deadline... It clearly should be something before christmas

I reckon we should be putting bets on who out of you, joey or mock finishes their little cars first :D

What's all this? "Finishes"? ... Isn't that too strong a word? I thought a project like this becomes an on-going thing (until you decide to sell it or give it to your kids) therefore never officially being finished...

I think the suzuki definition of "finished" is trip-worthy

Todays update:

Body is now prepped and primed for painting.

A fellow club member will be popping over one night next week to do the chop after I get it all measured.

Sounds like you'd better put on a bbq one day and get the tribe over for a rapid build like we did for the body swap day

Then you'd just have the delicate / thinking jobs to finish.

I'm thinking of perhaps a spit roast sunday arvo thang once the tub is painted to lift it over to the chassis.

Will let you know.

Yesterdays update,
Body chopped.

ATM I am thinking of closing in the rear like the pic to follow, the B pillar will tie into the roll bar at 3 points, the 2 bars that normally runs across the Hard top rear windows will connect to the cage the plated roof section will also tie into the cage.

I'm also using both roof braces (One from each body) for extra strength.

Well, visibility won't be an issue either from the look of that! You're going to have that much "glass area"? Thought you'd be more into the tiny cell-window thing, with the sliding window ;) Just kidding, but window below shoulder level is unecessary right? (now you're going to say the pic was for "illustrative purposes only")

As for the roof... you going to keep it like that or going to turn it into a "targa-top"? Might be easier to substitute (re-fabricate) the panels should you ever have any roof damage... and in the meantime, you can enjoy the whole open-top thing when you feel like it (I said open top, not open doors)

Just a thought!

It's coming along nicely Steve... looking good!

Cheers,

Luis

I plan to run some exo-style bar work so the roof section should be protected, if I was to cut it any further (i.e. between the a & B pillars it would weaken it too much.

I also hope to be able to look over my shoulder and see both rear wheel - hence the lower rear window.

Woke up on Friday and decided I wanted to a snow-camo scheme.

Looking good, but doesn't it defeat the purpose of camo? Isn't camo supposed to "hide" your car rather than make it stand out? :D

Excellent ;) Gotta find a Russian army uniform now...

It does look different... looking great! Barwork is going to be white or grey or camo-ed as well?

Chassis will be black so barwork probably will too.
