Hi All,
I've just found that the fuel transfer from my sub tank to the main tank on my 80 Series Diesel isn't working ...
Is the most likely cause that the sub fuel pump is stuffed?? ... or could the system need bleeding??
The tank was completely empty, so I'm not sure whether a bleed of the lines and the pump will fix it.
Does anyone know what I should look at first??
Thanks.

80 Series Sub Fuel Transfer not working :(

In the diesel, there is no transfer pump to the main tank.
When the sub fuel tank is selected in the diesel, it merely switches a solenoid that changes the fuel pickup to the sub tank, and the motor takes the fuel straight from the sub.
In the petrol 80 however, there is a transfer pump that transfers fuel from the sub tank into the main tank, so you only need 1 EFI pump.
If the changeover solenoid is not functioning, try checking simple things, like fuses, and/or damaged wiring underneath your truck, or even muddy terminals.
