BJ42 Glo Plug thingy

Post by Wilko76 »

Hi

The old man called today indicating that my old BJ42 Glo plug indicator light is now not working and the plugs are not glowing. he called around a few wreckers and they only have one for a 45 series.

Can you tell me what this unit is called and where to source?

Thx

pretty sure its a glow plug timer.. some are automatic and charge the glow plugs for a predetermined timer..

some people have installed a "wilson switch" which is a manual pushbutton that glows the plugs.. i had both and the button was awesome when the timer went... i used to count to 6secs and itd start first time every time.

have a search on ih8mud.com for 'wilson switch' and it will tell you how you can wire it up so you don't need the timer.

You can do some test .. and know if after your glow timer you have V or not .. test it and get better ideas about what's going on ..
