Post by Lil pig »

I done a v6 upgrade awhile ago now and ever sence then my brakes have felt hard, you nearly need to use 2 feet to pull her up in a hurry. any ideas what it might be. it was a 2.8 diesel before.

I would imagine it would have something to do with the brake booster and the vacuum for it.
Diesel obtains it's vacuum from the vacuum pump whilst the V6 would obtain it from the manifold.

Possibly booster is too small now or maybe cactus even.

Yep sounds like a booster problem.
I cant see it being a problem arising from the conversion though, unless the hose wasnt conected properly.

Petrol engines have a check valve in the booster line, maybe try fitting one.
To test the booster,
Pump the brake pedal til it's hard then start the car, if the pedal sinks slightly the booster is good.
