That looks like a maruti 1ltr gearbox, I beleive the later models had a 5th Gear. The earlier 4 speed maruti's can have a 5th gear put in them, but it requires alot of work.

Dont quote me but Im pretty sure not all of the maruti Gearboxs will fit onto a sierra 1ltr, My maruti 1ltr (4speed) looks different, to a sierra 1ltr gearbox. I havn't actually lined them up side by side to see how much difference there is though (if any)

(I think I just rambled a whole heap of crap, hope it helped :? )

Just went wandering around the backyard and found a 1ltr sierra 4 speed dragged it into the garage. Heres a couple of pics, the motor and gearbox is an early 90's Maruti 1ltr and 4 speed. the gearbox by itself is a 1LTR Sierra. (Could someone confirm that the outside of the maruti box looks the same as a 1.3 GB)

I think that the Maruti box is the same internally (except for the gears) as a 1.3 sierra. To fit a 5th gear you need a complete 1.3ltr gearbox, you put the whole gear machanism from the 1.3 GB into the Maruti GB, you need to get "something" machined inside the maruti box to fit the 5th gear, this gives you a better 1st gear and an overdrive.

Part of the problem with Maruti's and their parts is that there is so many variations between what seem to be the exact same model. I beleive later model Maruti came with a 5 speed GB but I dont know what gearing it would have in it, or even what the box would look like

DISCLAIMER: What I have written above is based on me thinking that the GB for sale on ebay is a maruti GB, what I have written may be completely wrong, what ive written is what Ive been told by other people or/and guestimated myself.

IMHO, I think the box in question is a maruti 1.3 5 speed.
Early Maruti 1.3's are same as (Suzuki)G13 except a 1.0 box bolts up. :D
