NL 3.5l Engine Issue

Post by glycerin »

Hey People,

Having an issue with my '99 NL that I cant seem to pinpoint. So i see if anyone here has come across similar problem.

Original problem is that after a long road trip or 4-5hrs of wheeling in the bush, the car starts to get a hesitation that then gets real bad.

Cant accelerate past about 5% throttle position. Today i plugged in a Snap-on scanner, and the ecu is not throwing any codes at all.

The problem has gotten worse over the last couple of days (real hot days) to the point where I drive for 20mins and it starts.

Here a few things I have thought of and will try tomorrow.
1) heat soak and TPS is failing
2) Fuel Pressure reg stuffed
3) Spark plug leads

apart from the above is there anything else I could check, the only odd reading I got out of the scanner was that at idle the O2 sensor was givving iradic readings, 80mV then a jump to 900mV and then down to 600 and then 80 ect ect.

This one has me stummped. Anyone come across this?

Cheers
Lonnie
