gday ,
just wondering what is the highest amp hr battery i can get to go in the small 8in gq efi dual battery tray. The biggest ive seen is 65a/h was hoping to get a 100a/h in there. Does anyone know approx. how long the 65a/h will run a 40L engal.
Thanks

gq efi biggest 2nd battery
I currently have a 55Ah in the petrol model battery tray in my Maverick, my newish Engel will probably use approx. 20-25Ah/day in reasonable weather on fridge mode, and remembering you can't use the last 20% of battery power I can usually last 1.5-2 days in camp without starting the vehicle.
I'm in the process of fitting the diesel tray to fit a 12inch deep cycle, that will fit a 90-100Ah Deep Cycle. Fitting this tray to the TB42 Carby engine means remounting the coil at 90 degrees, and reworking your air intake and ditching the pre-filter... for pics and info search the 4wd monthly forums for a recent thread on the topic.... unsure on the air intake set up on an EFI

I run 2 n70ZZs on my duel fuel EFI. Its a bit tight but can be done. Get rid of the air filter and run a good pod filter right behind the head light relocate the coil slightly backwards and use the Diesel duel batt tray that goes around the overflow bottle ( i made my own ).
My gas mixer is in the corner where the second batt would normally go so I ended up doing this way.

If you do any 4wdriving stop listening to him now as he obviously doesn't. Mine and everyone i know with lpg has never encountered this problem and even if they did it would be a minor compromise compared to sucking in a load of water and shitloads of dust.sad001 wrote:Got talked out of a snorkel by my mechanic as it can mess with the gas settings, leans out at high speed and can stall when you pop the clutch in for something.
As for battery, my full size deep cycle 2nd battery is located top rh corner of engine bay on slight angle. Had to make a little bracket to support coil and rectifier(??), etc. No adjustments, mods required for air intake, airbox, overflow bottle, LPG, etc. And its a 4.2 efi.
