disco 2" lift

Post by SoldierBoy1 »

Hi guys

Looking at doing a lift on my Ser 1 Disco. Have done a search and found a few things but nothing in to much detail. Have done several lifts in the past on Toyota's and Nissans but the rover look a bit more complex. Was looking at the LRA kit but it is 2 & 1/2 inch and in QLD you can only go 2".
Have the gear to make myself just after any hints like what get stuck on what as you lift the cab? And do you lift the Rad or not.

Obviously doin a body lift.
Just make sure you undo all the seatbelt anchor points  and if it is a manual make sure and losen of the clutch hydraulic line down near the bellhousing on the body bracket other than that pretty straight forward.

I moved the rad down only because i still use the viscous fan and it was easy to make up couple of brakets.
have grinder will fit

For a 2" bodylift you will also need to extend the steering rod that connects to your wheel. It is a piece of alum that is usually included in Body lft kits. Other than that all is simple and bolts to chassis points.

I used the kit from Rovertym. www.rovertym.com great service great parts.
