Body lift progress - 1 question ?

Post by jasonmcc »

Hi

Been doing a body lift for the last couple of days. Got all the blocks in and bolted down, steering sorted, rear wheels are on.

But on the front the tyre hits the tube coming off the chassis that holds the bumper on. Can i just cut this off, which is the only option i can see.

Thanks

Jason

Please reply i am waiting on what to do.

What about my bumper

Post by jasonmcc »

My bumper will fall off then, as the only bull bar i have is a shitty alloy one that has been made to fit.

It will look shit with just the bull bar there and no bumper, also no where to mount indicators.

I run one of these bars at the moment, i removed the bumper and i dont think it looks that bad at all. You should find a small hole where you can mount your indicators. If you do cut the side bars off, remember to leave just enough for the bullbar to mount to with the "U" shackles.

Come on, lateral thinking... ;) could do inside grill between headlights, outside the grill (attaching should be no problem), could put them on the bonnet (need to drill), could find some way to attach them vertically (as in, upright... parking light below, blinker above) on the thicker sections (center part) of bar barwork... problem is attaching them... but then again, all you need is a drill, a coulpe of screws and off you go I guess... wiring can be discretely (almost "invisibly") attached to barwork too.

Just a thought... I mean I've got a GV and I promissed I wouldn't do any drilling or grinding until it's paid off!! :D

Good luck mate! And post lotsa pics! ;)

Cheers,

I got one of the crappy factory "bull bars" as well .. looooooong ago I cut of the "outrigger" factory tin can bumper supports .. actually I belive they are more like indicator supports as the factory bumper aint that strong .. Anyways I simply used a 4 little L shaped brackets and bolted the bumper to the "bullbar" as a temporary measure 5 years ago :D

Its still there and still works .. Indicators stay attatched to vehicle :)
